Consumption of prebiotics in high doses can potentially be used to activate rewards responses
in the brain, which can be further linked to excellent gut health. Studies have shown that
microbial changes alter the response of the brain towards food rich in calories, aka, the
underlying mechanism can be put to use against obesity!
Prebiotics developed from onions, artichokes, plant roots and other fruits can be easily used to
foster the growth of healthy bacteria in the human gut. These improve the communication
between the brain and the gut microbiome, and the reward-response of the brain towards high-
crabs slows down. Scientists believe that this connection can be studied further more to come
up with a therapeutic treatment targeted for people suffering from severe obesity.
