I use to eat a banana and an apple every day. That is my daily routine. I love fruits. They are sweet, colorful, and above all, they are healthy and nutritious. But nowadays my fruit intake is restricted. I’m looking forward to reducing my weight, so I have started the keto diet. It appears annoying that I can’t enjoy all and as many fruits as I want.
Oh! Sorry for you. But as we know that the keto diet’s basic principle is low-carb and high-fat intake, which means we are supposed to take hardly 20-50 grams of carbs per day. Though fruits are healthy, full of vitamins and minerals, and nutritious but still full of carbohydrates.
It still doesn’t means that we have to avoid all fruits when we are on the keto diet. As fruits consist of essential nutrients, therefore they are unavoidable. But all fruits are not created equal. Every fruit has a different nutritional value. More sweetened fruits have more carbohydrate value. So here is the list of fruits you can enjoy while on keto also those you should avoid.
Keto friendly fruits
Avocados, lemons, berries, tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, and plums.
Fruits to be avoided
Bananas, apples, peaches, oranges, and cherries.
Though fruits are essential for us, try to avoid them while on the keto diet, and enjoy them on other diet plans.
