I’ve read the progress reports of many people who lost 50 lbs in 9 months. Inspired by these, I tried the keto diet many times, but I couldn’t stick to it.
It’s not because of the symptoms, or what is commonly known as keto flu, that I’m feeling sick. It’s just that I can’t restrict carbs. Rice and bread are my favorites. My attempt to make keto bread was disastrous. However, I thought I would be able to do well. On the keto diet, certain vegetables are off-limits, according to my dietitian. That’s the point where I was frustrated enough to give up.
In some cases, it seems so easy to cut carbs and fill your diet with cheese and bacon that even I can do it. Forcing my body to burn fats instead of carbs. But my stomach won’t support me. Even after having a plate full of chicken thighs and vegetables cooked in butter, I miss my portion of bread/rice with it. I feel hungry immediately after eating it. So I have decided to give up the keto diet and stuff myself with something not healthy for me. Ah! So pity.
Oh! It seems you are very disappointed. Take it easy. Watch out for what you eat. Try to choose nutritious food with a bit of a caloric restriction. Just allow yourself to eat what makes you feel well, but watch the carb content. Though there are few restricted vegetables and fruits, you can have permissible ones. Nuts are also permitted while on the keto diet, but they must be consumed in limited quantities. Cook more at home. Keep yourself hydrated. Besides there are many keto recipes available on social media to satisfy your sugar cravings.
